I agree with Paul Langan on this. I live in Guelph, currently work in Toronto, and would love high speed train service between the two cities. However, if it's not feasible, I agree that the next best option is more/better GO and/or VIA train service. A lot will depend too on the environmental assessment...would hate to see productive farmland or environmentally sensitive lands compromised. Let's be creative too...maybe require that GO pay a user fee to small/medium-scale farmers (the few that remain) for passing by or through their lands. Would be good to get this right!
