South Africa's High Speed Train

Although not true high speed rail, definitely modern passenger rail service. Here is the podcast of the NPR broadcast of the Gautrain. It links Johannesburg, the country's economic and business hub, and Pretoria, its political capital.

High-speed train travel ought to be similar to taking the rural area train: Just go to the stage a couple of minutes (or even seconds) before the train leaves, get your ticket at a machine and bounce on.
