Rare Photos Uncovered from ABB X2000 1993 High-Speed Train Visit to Windsor, Ontario

 A previous post on the High Speed Rail Canada website discussed the 1993 tour of the Swedish Asea,Brown. Boveri, (ABB) high-speed trail to Canada. It was at the end of a successful tour of the USA. Recently we became aware of promo photos taken on the Windsor, Ontario July 27th, 1993, stop of the tour. We have made a youtube video on our channel with these photos. Here is the LINK to watch it.

List of Ontario - Quebec High Speed Rail Studies Updated to 24 by High Speed Rail Canada

High Speed Rail Canada founder Paul Langan has updated the list of previous Ontario - Quebec high speed rail studies to 24. The list and free downloads of some of the studies are available on their website. highspeedrail.ca Media Release (04/30/2020) Cambridge, ON - High Speed Rail Canada (HSRC) is Canada's only educational resource dedicated to promoting the modernization of passenger rail in Canada. Their mandate is to educate people on the benefits of modern passenger rail. It is Time to Fund High Speed Rail in Ontario and Quebec

 During this federal election, an important election issue is the funding of high-speed rail. High-speed rail is a train system where the trains can reach speeds between 200 m.p.h. to 400 m.p.h. comparison, regular trains usually go at a speed of 160 m.p.h. or less. There are several places that high-speed rail would be an effective transportation option in Canada. One of the most studied locations is the Windsor to Quebec City corridor. The line would include stops in Kitchener and Toronto. This corridor includes more than 50 per cent of the Canadian population. High speed rail is an attractive option that should be at least partially funded by the federal government, for several reasons. One attractive feature of high-speed rail is that it is a significantly cleaner form of transportation than automobiles or airplanes.
