Well I can't say enough good things about the work Mabel Higgins and her group are doing in the Sarnia area to try and invigorate VIA Rail passenger rail service there. The pathetic state of VIA Rail service during the Stephen Harper era has left Sarnia with just one train a day. Check out their website and get involved.  http://e-rail.ca/
